Demons In Your Closet

womens skull shirt

I pretty much gave up on caring about clothes when I started seeing dudes with pants on that were tighter than the pants the girls had on that they were trying to approach. Gucci and Louis Vuitton have turned into required lyrics in almost every song on the radio, males have chains on their pants…..and sag to show the urban brand on their pockets like girls do with Apple Bottoms. However, none of that gets under my skin like those colorful button up shirts with pokemon looking characters on them and SHIRTS WITH DEMONIC STUFF ON THEM.

I am not the moral or fashion police. I’m not suggesting anyone is going to hell because they have a skull with a snake going through it on their Ed Hardy shirt, but it doesn’t change the weird feeling I get when I see the stuff on women. I never saw Anita Baker, Michelle Obama, Demetria Lucas (Essence Mag), or my grandma for that matter, wearing anything that seems like it would be hanging on Satan’s wall when he was a teenager. I’m going a bit overboard here, but I’m sure someone gets my point.

To take shots at myself, going out of the house with one of my sexy lady friends while they are wearing shorts so short that most people think they are panties is probably more offensive than blood, guts, and evil images on a t-shirt. Perhaps it’s just because I like simple women. I mean, I love simplicity. Simple dresses. Simple hair, although those ladies who freak those short hair styles are rather intriguing. Simple designer purses (I hate that monogram bullshit). Just being fly without having to draw all of the attention to themselves.

Overall, skulls creep me out. They’re like bad tattoos. Anything with snakes, crows, blood, dragons, and all of that other nonsense makes me feel weird.

So ladies and gents, what kind of clothing do you see on the opposite sex that really turns you off?

I absolutely HATE when grown ass men are wearing the same clothing as my 15 year old brother. NO! Not all styles are meant for everyone. 27 year old men who are trying to get a job in todays industry should not be wearing skinny jeans with a fro-hawk! NO. Short men need not wear their pants below their ass..Nigga you already look short why make yourself look worse w/ oversized clothing??? Being a walking billboard for somebody’s clothing line is NOT OK!!  Do you really need everyone to know who you are wearing?? Seriously people are 1 step away from stapling the damn receipt to their outfit.!!!

I’M STILL PERPLEXED BY THE WHOLE SKINNY JEAN THING, I’M OVER THE OVERSIZED T-SHIRT, AND THE SAGGY PANTS WITH THE BOXERS SHOWING..I BELIEVE AS WE AGE SO SHOULD OUT MANNER OF DRESS….IF YOU’RE OVER 25 LOOSE ALL OF THE ABOVE, THERE SHOULD BE NO REASON THAT YOUR T HANGS TO YOUR KNEES AND THAT I WOULD KNOW THAT YOU HAVE ON RED BOXERS….OOOH AND DEFINETLY ANY MALE OVER 25 SHOULD ROCK A HAIRCUT, LEAVE THE PLAITS AND BRAIDS TO THE YOUNGINS…THAT’S PLAYED…

I don’t care what anyone says, seeing pink on a man just turns me off! And those bright colours that make them look like a fruit bowl or Ronald McDonald!! Keep it simple and clean cut fellows! Oh and no ball huggers!!!

Funny bc as a man I rock the hell outta some pink and bright colors, however only in the spring/summer & I revert back to darker colors for fall/winter, it’s just what I do. What is it about pink that turns u off about men wearing pink??

I don’t wear pink, but I think I do have some patent-leather Rasheed Wallace AF1′s from 2004…and they are rather bright….does that turn you off as well?

History lesson: saggy pants originated in prisons to show availability. So, what message are we really sending? So, pull ‘em up and welcome to the working class world, gentlemen!!!!

ok, I hate this logic. That history lesson means nothing in an environment where it does not apply. A lot of things started one way, such as the word nigga, and depending where and when you are… they can mean something else. How convenient for people to find these tad bits of information and go crazy with them. I mean heels were created by men for men….so what message are we really sending by women wearing them now?

I like the whole skinny jeans thing I guess I like the nerd look. It look a shit load better then that embrassing sagging. As long as a man looks neat, clean, and not like he’s fresh from jail I’m good!

I agree: No sagging, no skinny jeans … I’d like to add no men with unkempt hair (braids are ok as long as they’re neat); I’m tired of seeing mohawks and Converse … It seems like most men in California have NO style! It’s sad.

LMAO @ Satan as a teenager. Eww @ panty shorts, so classless. I HATE jeans worn past the ass, boxers hanging out. Who the hell said that shit looked good? Its the most sloppy looking thing EVER. Guy tries to talk to you and walks away and all you can see pure is ass. Even worst, boney ass *shudders.*I get embarrassed if anyone sees that a guy lookin like that approached me. I also hate to see guys with braids. Cut that off. Why are you trynna grow your hair past mine? Its not a competition son. I dislike when guys match TOO much. Thats the way you dress when your a teen and dont know how to put clothes together. Its about co-ordination, not matching.

I literally begin to drool when I see an attractive man in an exqusitely tailored outfit. His wardrobe doesn’t necessarily have to be dripping designer labels either- crisp white polos, fitted (not skinny) dark denim jeans and a pair of spotless shoes is enough to send me into ecstasies!!! As for what I’m tired of, I gonna have to jump on the bandwagon when it comes to the whole baggy pants, Heavy D sized Tee thing…If you’re over the age of 18 and still doing that crap its time to re-evaluate. P.S: I know I descrbed a white tee, but I am enamored with men who are adventurous with color! :S

I can understand that and I know quite a few ladies 25+ who love that look on guys. I do think that the environment plays a big role on the dress code. Some of the dudes I know who solely wear button ups and polos work 10 hour days at a place where that is expected. So thir whole closet revolves around that…and that’s cool. On the flip side, hustlers (not just drug dealers), but people that don’t punch clocks…they have no reason to ever dress corporate. I mean, you’re going to rarely see a woman who does hair in a business suit, not because she doesn’t have class, but because she never needs to have on one…and she can be just as successful as anyone working at a Fortune 500 company. To an extent, I guess it’s….”when in Rome, do as the Romans do.”

SOUND OFF!!! Looks like you opened a can of worms, Undresser. The line has been drawn. Skinny vs. Baggy. We should stop all this shit and pick up a GQ magazine. What’s the future hold for Black America? Is anyone else afraid to see?

You don’t have to be skinny or baggy, just fit. In the big scheme of things, if you’re not hurting anyone, it shouldn’t matter….and it really doesn’t.

I HATE ed hardy. With a passion. Almost as much as i hate people that still wear Von Dutch trucker hats. It reminds me greased up guidos in New Jersey. Ugh. On a side note I am partial to slightly baggy jeans on men with a hint of a sag, preferably worn with a slightly fitted tee and timberland boots. yum
